***** Pottery workshop in MALTA. ***** Mark Ciavola , founder and production thrower at Potters Thumb will be sharing his passion and experience on the potters wheel and setting you up with the necessary skills to start making. This workshop is designed to cover all the aspects of working on the potters wheel with enough individual time to ensure you grasp the skills and start practicing. The workshop will span over 2 sessions x 2 hrs 1 session x 1 hr Mark will be demonstrating the techniques required and exploring the wonderful world of pottery. During the session we will be covering : - Learning about the material and its properties - clay - Prepping the clay for the wheel - Centering the clay on the wheel head - Shaping the clay to create a vessel / cup - Lifting off the pot from the wheel head. - Trimming the pot - How to make a bowl - How to make a jug - Pulling handles - slips and mark making - Glazing and decorating the pots produced during the workshop - All tools required- supplied The session allows enough time for a hands on experience with clay and trying out the techniques to create your own pots. The outcomes of the class is to pass on the skills you need to get creating on the potters wheel. You will get to keep what you create during the session. Location Naxxar, Midland Ind Park, Malta.
