Service Description
We are proud to announce a series of workshops to be held at the amazing space at I AM CONTEMPORARY in Valletta , Old Mint Street. The workshop will be conducted by Mark Ciavola, potter and founder of Potters Thumb, The workshop has been designed to examine closely the outcomes and processes required to offer a successful and enjoyable session creating with clay. During the workshop you will be making your very own bespoke flower pot to make your garden unique. You will be guided on some easy to follow hand building techniques, exploring patterns to create a lovely surface texture to your pot. Suitable for all levels, perfect for beginners or anyone wanting to get their hands back in clay to develop your skills and knowledge further. The outcomes of the workshop • Looking at surface pattern and textures • Hand building in clay - Slab building / coil building • Development of ideas • Constructing your very own flower pot with unique surface pattern out of clay to be fired upto 1120 degrees centigrade Final Product • To produce a flower pot with your own unique surface texture and pattern within the design. Things to bring with you to the session • Apron • Hand Towel • Notebook -to take notes during the session • Important: Have a look at various surface patterns or texture either man made or organic. This will be used as inspiration for the surface design applied to your plant pot.
